What is truth?

Jesus and Pontius Pilate had this conversation during the trial of Jesus in the gospel of John 18:37-38, “Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.”

What is truth? Its sure seems like a question that can applied to about every new story, every “based on a real-life story” or even a message from the pulpit.

 As I browsed through the newspaper as of late, watched the nightly news or listened to talk radio if you are not careful you can end up scratching your head and wondering if what you just watched read or heard meets the question of being true.

 In just my life time I’ve been witness of the warnings of the next ice age to come, the ozone layer disaster, the soon extinction of the polar bear, the threat of the entire east coast being under water because of the melting polar ice caps. Since that prophetic has proven wrong and now is falling on deaf ears, we now are seeing a brand-new attack on our country by trying to scare our young children to death as we hear cries of our world only having months or a few years to reverse the destruction we have done to our earth.

If you have the courage to speak out against this movement you will be described as evil, hate filled, sexist, racist, bigots who don’t deserve to live. If we have the nerve to step up to the LGBTQIA you will be labeled and even prosecuted in some jurisdictions.

 As Christians if we take any biblical view that opposes these movements, well you better watch out, in some countries they are not only shutting you down, arresting you, but you could face death. The republic in which we stand is adopting these positions as well.

We are being told if you don’t believe the scientific proven theory of evolution, molecules to man, you are ignorant, stupid, or even guilty of child abuse. Lawrence M. Krauss, American Physicist and Atheist Richard Dawkins both have made claims that teaching children to accept their families’ religious beliefs is child abuse.

 Question is only teaching a part of what the bible says about something or even most of what it says, truth? Question is then if we omit something from a story can we still say its truth?

I had seen the story earlier about the recent ex-cop conviction of Amber Guyger.  If you had watched one of the three national stations and on the following morning you would have gotten an entire different story than what really occurred. ABC was talking of this event. They played a portion of what the brother Brandt Jean spoke to Ms. Guyger, but I believe they purposely omitted that he said he hopes that she would find Christ!  what they said is a lie!

As Christians we are being warned that they are somethings that we need to accept or just ignore, We  are told to stop contending to the faith once given unto the saints, just tell people to believe in Jesus Christ if you want to but don’t tell then that you need to do anything else. Don’t preach sermons that may bring conviction on its hearers for that is judging and could cause irreparable damage to their egos.

The world would have you believe there is more than one way to get to heaven, in a Pew forum on Religion and Public life from 2007, 57% of evangelicals believe many religions can lead to eternal life,

John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. “

What is truth?

Truth is God became flesh, 1 Timothy 3:16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John 10:30, “I and my Father are one”

I have even heard from people that it is too hard to change that they will take their chances in the tribulation period and live their lives now and not seek to become Born again, 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

What is truth?

3 John 1:3, “For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.”

Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”,  

Don’t accept anything less than the truth!
